Seton Hall University's Secondary Education Program provides an innovative approach to teacher preparation, emphasizing culturally responsive pedagogy and social justice advocacy. This distinctive program delivers a challenging academic experience designed to equip aspiring teachers for diverse learning environments, with special attention to urban settings through collaborative school-community initiatives. Our justice-oriented approach aligns with Seton Hall's broader vision of developing professionals who will become ethical leaders in an interconnected world. Through content-intensive, research-driven courses enhanced by technology, future secondary educators experience cooperative learning while bridging educational theory with classroom application. The Bachelor of Science in Education (Secondary) spans four years and requires completion of at least 120 credits. Participants obtain at least one teaching certification (with options for additional credentials) and gain hands-on field experience throughout their final three years of study.
