This certificate program, provided by the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, teaches students the fundamentals of transportation and land-use planning at both local and regional scales. As urban areas expand rapidly, planners understand the deep interconnection between transportation and land use. These elements must be coordinated to ensure swift and efficient access for residents and freight services, expand mobility choices for non-drivers, and foster communities that are economically and environmentally sustainable.
