The Apparel Design and Merchandising program builds an academic and hands-on foundation for various career paths in the global fashion industry. Learners examine human behavior, societal issues, and ecological considerations, translating these factors into apparel design and merchandising solutions. The program offers two specializations: Design and Merchandising. Participants will gain and implement knowledge about different industry segments involved in textile and garment creation, production, promotion, distribution, and consumption, covering design, manufacturing, sourcing, marketing, and retail operations. Shared foundational courses help students cultivate a consumer-focused and socially aware perspective on the textile and apparel sector, along with fundamental industry knowledge including career paths, terminology, and professional standards relevant to the field.
