Earning a master's degree in middle school education equips you to support both academic and emotional development for junior high students. This hands-on, practical program trains educators to collaborate inclusively with diverse learners and families, including those requiring special education or English language support. Graduates qualify for Illinois teaching certification across core subjects: language arts, math, science, and social studies. Our program cultivates skilled, passionate educators dedicated to fostering adolescents' intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development. Participants enhance their teaching methodologies, subject expertise, communication abilities, and observational techniques to effectively serve varied student populations. Throughout the curriculum, candidates evolve into professional educators capable of driving positive change in educational settings. Upon graduation, students receive an Illinois Professional Educator License authorizing instruction for grades 5 through 8.
