As a high school educator, the lessons you impart can shape your students' futures. At UAB, we equip you with the essential skills to guide young learners as they grow ready to spread their wings and step into adulthood.
Our program is carefully crafted to train you in teaching diverse student populations across grades six through twelve. If you hold a Class B teaching certification, our traditional master's program awaits. Don't have certification yet? Our alternative master's program provides both a strong educational foundation and a route to earning your Alternative Class A teaching credential. Throughout the program, you'll explore courses like Modern Teaching Strategies for Secondary Education, Curriculum Development and Implementation, The Evolution of Educational Reform, among others. Based on your focus area, you'll select at least four specialized courses. The program culminates with hands-on training through both a practicum and internship, ensuring you gain valuable classroom experience before launching your teaching career.
