Rivier provides two distinct M.A.T. Middle/Secondary Social Studies program pathways: one designed for practicing educators and another for professionals transitioning into teaching. Current teachers will expand their instructional expertise and methodologies through this program, while aspiring educators will gain the qualifications needed to teach social studies in grades 5-12. For experienced teachers, this program strengthens classroom effectiveness, understanding of student development, pedagogical approaches, and social studies content. Those entering the teaching profession will broaden their social studies expertise while acquiring essential classroom techniques and instructional methods. Through the M.A.T. Middle/Secondary Social Studies program, participants will: Transform into skilled educators and communicators Bridge educational theory with practical classroom application Enhance analytical reasoning and solution-finding abilities
Applicants must have Official transcript(s) from Undergraduate study. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is expected for acceptance into our graduate programs.
Our minimum acceptable scores for standard English tests are TOEFL (61), IELTS (5.5), PTE (43).
