For individuals holding a bachelor's degree in social work (BSW), Quinnipiac's MSW Advanced Standing Program offers a competitive advantage for professional success. Eligibility requires a BSW from a CSWE-accredited program before starting the fall semester of the MSW Advanced Standing program.
Participants immediately engage in our focused curriculum, completing two semesters of coursework combined with 700 hours of field education (totaling 30 credits). This program can be finished in one academic year through full-time study or extended over 2 years with part-time enrollment. All students must fulfill 30 hours of interprofessional education provided by Quinnipiac's Center for Interprofessional Health Care Education prior to graduation. The program is available both online and on-campus.
Graduates of the MSW Advanced Standing program qualify to take the LMSW licensing exam and are equipped for diverse clinical social work roles, including positions in elder care, healthcare/mental health/substance abuse services, child and family welfare systems, criminal justice, or educational social work settings.
