Enroll in Oklahoma State University's Master of Science Program, established in 1977 as one of the nation's pioneering environmental science programs. Our cross-disciplinary curriculum enables students to combine physical, biological, social, and information sciences to examine environmental challenges and develop innovative solutions. For decades, our program has produced more than 340 Master's graduates who now serve as EPA research scientists, university faculty and administrators, energy sector executives, environmental consulting firm CEOs, sustainability specialists, tribal environmental directors, conservation educators, and officials across local, state, and federal government agencies.
Thesis Track
The thesis-based Environmental Science master's degree requires 30 credit hours consisting of:
12 credits of mandatory core coursework (listed below)
12 credits of electives
6 thesis research credits
Thesis defense
Non-thesis Track
The non-thesis Environmental Science master's degree requires 32 credit hours including:
12 credits of core coursework
18 elective credits
2 research project credits
Final project presentation
Degree Requirements: 30 credits (thesis) or 32 credits (non-thesis).
Both tracks may require presenting a research proposal orally or in writing (as determined by department and faculty committee).

ENVR 5123 Environmental Systems Analysis
Natural/Physical Science elective (3 credits)
