Select among four specialized tracks aligned with professional aspirations: human nutrition/pre-medical studies, allied health professions, dietetics or community nutrition. You'll engage in practical, research-driven learning that offers an outstanding foundation for a rewarding healthcare career. Alumni often continue education in medical fields, life sciences or dietetics, while some enter advanced healthcare programs to become physician assistants or rehabilitation specialists.
Dietetics
Begin your journey toward becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). These professionals utilize current scientific knowledge, culinary expertise and counseling techniques to provide nutritional guidance, public health education and therapeutic meal planning. Dietetics students acquire competencies to enhance health through better nutrition and transform scientific findings into practical recommendations for healthy lifestyles. Following your bachelor's degree, you'll undertake a 1000-hour supervised practice (temporarily reduced from 1200 hours due to COVID) and earn a master's degree (mandatory starting 2024) before qualifying for the RDN certification exam. This program holds national accreditation from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' ACEND.
