Ohio State has a distinguished history in Social Work, dating back to 1875 when we introduced our inaugural course, followed by conferring the first Master's degree in 1923. As the nation's oldest continuously accredited public university program since 1919, we offer our Traditional MSW program starting every Autumn semester, available both on-campus and online. This program caters to students holding undergraduate degrees in fields other than social work, or those who earned their BSW over five years prior. The Traditional MSW can be finished in two years of full-time study or extended through part-time enrollment.
