The Master of Social Work program equips graduate students with the skills needed for advanced and specialized practice, enabling them to deliver impactful services to individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. Students can choose between a 2-year or 3-year track, as well as a 1-year accelerated option. The 2-year and 3-year programs are available at Cal State L.A.'s main campus, while the intensive 1-year program is offered at the downtown campus. A 3-Year Option is also available.

Minimum 2.75 grade point average in the last 90 quarter units (60 semester units),
Completion of a course in research and/or statistics and 8 quarter units (6 semester units) of upper division social science courses with a grade of C or better, and
Good academic standing at the last graduate college or university attended.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - 80 ibt or higher , International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Band 6.0 or higher , Toefl Paper - 550
