Students from throughout the United States and internationally choose The Ohio State University's Department of Entomology for their studies. Our extensive faculty covers a wide range of research specialties. The department provides both thesis-based (Plan A) and non-thesis (Plan B) Master's degree options, with Plan B tailored to specific professional development needs. Our graduate program aims to achieve these objectives: Learners will gain in-depth knowledge of insect biology across all levels - from molecular to biosphere scales - while recognizing systemic relationships, Students will comprehend insects' economic impacts and ecological roles, influencing scientific progress, policy development, and management strategies, and Participants will develop research capabilities, apply ethical reasoning and innovative problem-solving to interdisciplinary challenges, and master communication skills for diverse audiences.
A baccalaureate or professional degree (or equivalent foreign credential) from an accredited college or university, earned by the expected date of entry into your graduate program. A minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in all prior undergraduate and graduate work.
