The Department of Animal Sciences at The Ohio State University is dedicated to progressing animal sciences to benefit both animals and people through three key areas: Research, Education, and Community Engagement. As Ohio's premier institution for animal science learning and public outreach, we've established important partnerships with: The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, The Department of Human Nutrition in the College of Education and Human Ecology, and Australia's Animal Welfare Science Centre.
Our department actively works with academic, industry, and government experts globally. Faculty members lead innovative research with significant impacts on conventional and modern agriculture, as well as animal and human wellness. Our research specialties encompass: Nutritional science and microbiology, Genetic improvement and reproduction, Livestock growth and meat science, Mammary gland biology and dairy quality, Animal behavior and welfare, plus Environmental management and bioenergy solutions.
A baccalaureate or professional degree (or equivalent foreign credential) from an accredited college or university, earned by the expected date of entry into your graduate program. A minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in all prior undergraduate and graduate work.
