The Mexican American Studies Program at NVC equips students to explore global perspectives through the lens of Mexican American experiences in the U.S. and the U.S.-Mexico border region, examining subjects like history, literature, arts, political science, and beyond. Ethnic Studies programs, including Mexican American Studies, help students develop skills to succeed in our diverse national and international community. We empower learners to recognize themselves as knowledgeable contributors and catalysts for meaningful societal transformation. Numerous program graduates transfer to universities to pursue higher education, obtaining degrees such as Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Social Work (M.S.W.), Juris Doctor (J.D.), Doctor of Education (Ed.D.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). The Associate of Arts degree serves as foundational coursework comparable to the initial two years of a bachelor's program. This outline provides general guidance; specific transfer institution requirements may vary. Consult your academic advisor for personalized transfer planning.
