Our Dance pre-major program provides an extensive curriculum covering dance techniques, composition, theory, and performance, preparing students for transfer to university Dance programs across Texas. We also feature studio classes available to all students, with offerings in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap, Folk, and Ballroom. Participants will develop dance abilities rooted in proper body mechanics while gaining hands-on choreography experience and exploring dance through historical, cultural, and movement science perspectives.
Every semester, studio class students can showcase their talents in performances at the Palmetto Theater. Dedicated dancers may try out for our in-house company, the Northwest Vista College Repertory Dance Ensemble. Through our yearly visiting artist program, students connect directly with professional working artists in the dance field.
