Students have the option to design a customized major program within the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, distinct from existing offerings while utilizing available courses. This requires selecting a faculty advisor from the college and collaboratively developing the proposal. The curriculum should center on a coherent and engaging focus area, such as acoustic engineering. Those wishing to incorporate courses primarily from other colleges should coordinate with those institutions. For instance, a scientific illustration contract major might combine the School of Art's illustration program with biology coursework. Proposals involving significant coursework outside the engineering college necessitate an additional advisor from the relevant discipline. All program plans must be reviewed by the associate dean and approved by the Contract Major Committee.
