This focused program equips undergraduates with a deep understanding of global issues concerning Europe from the early 1900s onward, exploring various interdisciplinary perspectives on international relations. These include studies of conflict, collaboration, power structures, civic engagement, transnational advocacy, worldwide social movements, and government-citizen dynamics—covering democratic systems, authoritarian regimes, social disparities, and rights of citizenship. The international affairs degree offers a robust, interdisciplinary education while allowing students to tailor their studies to personal interests. The program cultivates global awareness by examining 20th-century international developments through lenses like interstate relations theory, examining clashes, alliances, social hierarchies, grassroots organizations, cross-border activism, and political systems. International affairs majors can further specialize by selecting from various geographic focus areas.
