The German Studies program explores a rich heritage spanning over 500 years across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and surrounding regions. Learners develop advanced German language skills while engaging with renowned literature, examining diverse artistic works, studying complex theories, and investigating political, linguistic, and cultural developments. Faculty members mentor students in identifying their unique interests within the vast landscape of German culture. Language instruction focuses on developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities through authentic cultural resources. The program also teaches fundamental literary analysis techniques, emphasizing careful interpretation of texts from various genres, disciplines, and historical periods. German Studies offers varied course content that intersects with numerous contemporary academic disciplines. Many groundbreaking figures in philosophy, social sciences, arts, and sciences produced their influential works in German. Applicants must have a completion of high school.
Applicants will have IELTS scores of 7.0 or higher and Pearson Test scores of 70 or higher. TOEFL scores of at least the following: 100 on the internet-based TOEFL; 25 on the paper-and-paper TOEFL Paper-delivered Test.
