Effective arthropod pest control in agricultural systems relies on comprehending pest population ecology and their natural predators within farm environments. This approach combines multiple tactics such as biological controls, cultural practices, pesticide use, and semiochemicals within integrated pest management frameworks. These programs aim to keep pest populations below economically damaging thresholds while meeting environmental, financial, and societal standards. The Entomology department delivers comprehensive, high-caliber education at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Our undergraduate curriculum supports students across various Agriculture and Life Science majors, Agricultural Institute participants, and those fascinated by arthropod interactions with their surrounding ecosystems. We merge conventional and contemporary methods to examine insects' roles in both wild and cultivated environments. Recognized internationally, CALS's entomology graduate program provides a rigorous academic structure, personalized research opportunities, and dedicated faculty mentorship.
