The Graduate Program excels in several key philosophical disciplines, including epistemology, philosophy of mind, metaphysics, moral and political philosophy, logic, philosophy of language, philosophy of logic and mathematics, and the history of philosophy. PhD candidates can also pursue a specialized track in Ancient Philosophy. The department's courses provide broad intellectual value, enhancing students' ability to evaluate arguments and critically examine concepts. With intimate class sizes, students benefit from rich discussions and personalized writing guidance. For the Master of Arts degree, the Philosophy Department requires: (1) completion of 32 graduate credits (minimum 24 within the department, with external courses or transfer credits requiring departmental approval), and (2) a high-quality research paper (graded B or above) produced either within a seminar or under faculty supervision. The department regularly evaluates each student's academic progress and standing in the program.
