The M.A. program aims to fulfill several objectives: equipping students with comprehensive knowledge across philosophy's fundamental disciplines and deep historical understanding to prepare them for doctoral studies, offering philosophical education for those pursuing interdisciplinary fields adjacent to philosophy like cognitive science or applied ethics, enabling personal intellectual growth through advanced philosophical exploration, and providing the necessary qualifications to teach philosophy at secondary schools or community colleges. Our M.A. students receive not just exceptional philosophical training but also enjoy the advantages of belonging to a vibrant, collaborative department featuring numerous academic events, seminars, and discussion groups spanning various philosophical domains.
