The BFA Fine Arts program helps you uncover your unique creative identity, introducing you to classic painting, drawing, sculpture, and video techniques alongside cross-disciplinary approaches that may incorporate performance, multimedia installations, and digital engagement. Internship opportunities and elective courses covering art history, theory, and professional development expand your outlook and equip you for a thriving career in the arts.
Your BFA journey starts with Parsons' first-year curriculum, forming the core foundation for all undergraduate degrees at Parsons. Starting in your second year, you'll immerse yourself in Core Studio and Core Seminar classes that enhance your hands-on creative process. Courses in art and design history and theory sharpen your research, writing, and analytical abilities, while university electives widen your intellectual horizons.
BFA Fine Arts alumni excel in diverse areas including studio art practice, arts leadership, curation, museum and gallery management, art criticism, publishing, and exhibition design.
