The Juanita and Ralph Harvey School of Visual Arts at Midwestern State University provides diverse studio programs in state-of-the-art facilities. Every program focuses on thorough instruction in hands-on skills, studio methods, and artistic principles essential for producing fine artwork. The gallery showcases collective and individual shows by prominent regional and national artists throughout the academic year, including the yearly Student Exhibition in spring and summer. Each fall and spring, the Harvey School of Visual Arts organizes numerous workshops and talks via its Visiting Artist Program. Educational trips to Dallas and Fort Worth museums, galleries, and private studios enhance the comprehensive learning experience. The school presents three degree paths: The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) caters to students pursuing an art major with a minor in another discipline. The Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) offers a more intensive curriculum for those aiming for graduate studies or professional artistic careers. Additionally, K-12 teaching certification can be combined with the B.F.A. degree.
