The Dietetic Internship is a 36-week full-time program designed to help students meet the competencies established by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Successful completion qualifies participants to sit for the Registration Examination for Dietitians. Passing this exam grants graduates either the Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
Montclair State University's Dietetic Internship Program focuses on equipping graduates with the academic knowledge and hands-on supervised training needed for entry-level positions as registered dietitians or nutritionists. Through classroom instruction and comprehensive supervised fieldwork, students gain experience working with diverse populations and interdisciplinary teams, preparing them for leadership roles in the dietetics field.
