Students pursuing a chemistry major will gain the necessary skills for careers in chemical industries, advanced studies in chemistry or biochemistry, science-related professional programs, or teaching credentials.
The Chemistry Major integrates classroom instruction in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics with hands-on lab experiences and mandatory research projects. Program alumni secure positions in industrial settings, enter graduate programs, or teach at the secondary level.
Our Department fosters an engaging learning atmosphere with extensive practical experimentation and personalized research opportunities. We aim to equip driven students for careers or further education in chemistry, biochemistry, and related scientific disciplines, including medicine, pharmacology (through our Articulation Programs), biotechnology, and bioengineering.
Through our Combined Degree option, undergraduates can take graduate-level courses during their senior year, applying these credits toward both their Bachelor's and Master's degrees. This accelerated pathway typically enables students to complete both degrees within five years.
Career Paths - Clinical Chemistry Specialist, University Chemistry Instructor, Laboratory Technician, Research Chemist, Materials Science Expert.
