This specialized academic discipline examines the connections between legal systems, justice institutions, and societal structures, emphasizing criminal behavior theories, policing practices, global justice frameworks, and judicial administration. The program equips graduates for careers in law enforcement, security services, judicial organizations, community support agencies, and similar fields. Montclair State University provides one of New Jersey's rare undergraduate Justice Studies degrees, distinguished by its comprehensive interdisciplinary approach that explores how justice, legislation, policy, and societal transformation interact. Majors can specialize in three key areas: Justice Systems, International Justice, or Paralegal Studies. All students gain practical exposure to justice work through mandatory internships in their chosen concentration. Review our Mission Statement.
