This program equips you with the essential skills and expertise required to earn certification as a court reporter. Court reporters document legal proceedings verbatim in courtrooms or depositions, producing official transcripts for legal professionals. As a student in this court reporting program, you'll develop the ability to record speech at 225 words per minute while maintaining 96% transcription accuracy. The curriculum covers computer-assisted transcription technology, including stenography, courtroom communication, legal vocabulary, and testimony recording, along with other crucial competencies. Graduates will be prepared to obtain certifications from both the Texas Court Reporter Certification Board and the National Court Reporters Association.
