The Family and Consumer Sciences master's program is offered through Montana State University's Department of Human Development and Community Health. This graduate program enables students to gain advanced, practical knowledge in family and human development theories, research methodologies, and program design and assessment. The curriculum structure supports both full-time students (through a mix of in-person and online classes) and working professionals needing adaptable schedules (fully online options). Earning a master's degree expands career prospects, as many senior roles in human sciences demand graduate-level education. Graduates will acquire expertise in research techniques and program development/evaluation, preparing them for leadership roles such as project leads, program coordinators, or evaluators in public and nonprofit human service organizations. Regarding academic careers, master's degree holders become eligible for adjunct or non-tenure-track faculty positions in higher education.
