The Master of Science (M.S.) program in Applied Sociology equips students for professional roles across government sectors, corporate environments, and non-profit institutions. This curriculum develops competencies in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, statistical evaluation, and impact assessment, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for evolving employment landscapes.
Participants will undertake a field-based research initiative to gather impact evaluation or assessment information relevant to organizational leaders. In a following semester, they'll produce a scholarly research document using this collected data. Approval of a practicum plan by the academic committee is mandatory before commencing the final research paper. While individual projects will differ, all will integrate the program's core focus areas—sociological research techniques, statistical applications, needs evaluation, impact studies, and proposal development—with the systematic examination of both numerical and narrative data.
