The Department of Education provides teacher training programs for aspiring educators specializing in particular subjects for grades 5-12 and K-12. The General Science Broadfield and Social Studies Broadfield programs are fully managed and located within the Education Department. Other programs like English, history, and health enhancement are coordinated across multiple departments. Participants in these interdisciplinary programs will register with the departments responsible for their selected teaching specialties (details provided below).
Beyond secondary education programs, the department offers fundamental courses beneficial for educators at all grade levels. These include studies in educational history and philosophy, multicultural education, learning psychology, evaluation methods, curriculum design, educational technology, and special education.
