The secondary education curriculum provides students with a comprehensive liberal arts foundation while focusing on their chosen teaching specialization. This program culminates in a bachelor's degree from the College of Education and Human Development, with the flexibility to pair it with a content area degree—often without needing additional credits.

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) serves as the college's specialized library, stocked with children's literature and instructional materials for curriculum development, classroom enhancement, and career growth. Its vast juvenile book collection helps enrich teaching activities. The facility also includes an art room—a self-service space equipped with laminators, poster printers, and lettering machines for creating educational materials. Furthermore, education majors have exclusive access to a computer lab featuring cutting-edge software tailored for teaching professionals.
To be admitted to an undergraduate degree program as a regular freshman student, you must be a graduate from an approved or accredited high school. You must have a 3.0 weighted GPA in the academic core courses in order to be admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno.
Verification of having met the English requirement through one of the following options: TOEFL score 61+; IELTS (must be academic version) with a score of 6.0+; Duolingo English Exam score 95+; Cambridge score of B2+.
