This 15-month program is tailored for career-changers holding a bachelor's or advanced degree in another field who wish to enter the nursing profession. The Wilson School of Nursing's ACCEL-RN program presents an accelerated second-degree pathway to a prelicensure BSN, leveraging students' prior education and professional background. Through a rigorous spring selection process, candidates transition into nursing from diverse academic disciplines. Accepted students commence full-time studies in Summer I, progressing through consecutive fall, spring, and summer terms. Upon completion, graduates qualify to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensing exam.
The curriculum blends foundational general education courses examining health determinants - from physiological to socioeconomic factors - with specialized nursing instruction. These courses equip BSN graduates to deliver comprehensive patient care across diverse healthcare settings, addressing the needs of individuals, families, and communities through evidence-based practice.
