Lehigh's sociology undergraduate program, offering both majors and minors, equips students with skills in statistics, research methodologies, data interpretation, and social theory development. Students frequently highlight the value of their coursework, internships, and research projects, along with the close faculty guidance they receive. These disciplines prove fulfilling in multiple aspects. Social science majors often find deep satisfaction in their careers during and after college. A 2014 Gallup poll revealed that social science graduates report higher job engagement than their business or engineering counterparts, while also achieving similar financial stability. Lehigh graduates emerge prepared to thrive in the global job market while gaining a deeper understanding of society and crafting purposeful lives. The department provides three Bachelor of Arts options: anthropology, combined sociology/anthropology, and sociology. All three programs follow similar structures, requiring 40 credit hours. The interdisciplinary sociology/anthropology track suits students seeking broader social science exposure, while the standalone majors cater to those pursuing focused, traditional academic paths.
