The Sociology program prepares undergraduates for careers in sociology-related fields such as family services, social work, Christian ministry, and other roles needing sociological knowledge or advanced study. Coursework examines modern social dynamics, exploring how individuals, families, and communities are affected in our diverse, interconnected world while broadening students' cultural and socioeconomic understanding. At DBU, students develop communication abilities and research techniques to address social science challenges, gaining insights into human behavior and social patterns through a Christian lens while practicing servant leadership via internships and community projects. Graduates leave with foundational knowledge of human relationships, group dynamics, and social structures grounded in sociological theory and research, viewed from a global perspective.
