For individuals facing mobility challenges due to injury or illness, physical therapists serve as rehabilitation experts dedicated to helping patients regain optimal functionality.
Our Doctor of Physical Therapy program aims to equip students with the skills to profoundly impact people's lives. Through an extensive curriculum, the program provides diverse clinical opportunities in both inpatient and outpatient settings across local and national healthcare partners to enhance practical skills.
Students will learn to help patients of all ages maintain mobility by creating tailored fitness and wellness programs that promote healthier, more active living. Welcome to Indiana University Indianapolis' physical therapy program - a student-focused environment where lifelong aspirations take shape and dreams of helping others become reality.
Here, you'll join a close-knit community where students, faculty, patients, and clinicians collaborate to improve lives through movement. Beyond mastering your profession, you'll discover your calling and prepare for a rewarding career that aligns with your passions.
Choose between two distinguished programs: our nationally recognized Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or the combined DPT/Ph.D. in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Whichever path you select, we maintain rigorous standards to ensure your success.
You should have a baccalaureate degree (there is no preference in what the degree is as long as the prerequisite courses are completed) from a regionally accredited institution.
All non-native speakers of English must also submit proof of English proficiency unless the applicant has a Bachelor's degree or higher from the US or a predominantly English-speaking country.
