Founded in 1995, Illinois Tech's rehabilitation counseling education program aims to develop future leaders in the field through advanced training. Faculty approach rehabilitation counseling as a specialized practice within professional counseling, focusing on helping individuals with disabilities or chronic illnesses achieve both psychological and economic self-sufficiency.
Students enhance their teaching abilities by participating in curriculum design, delivering course instruction, and providing clinical supervision to master's students in our renowned program. This training starts in the first year with collaborative faculty research and progresses to independent research projects.
