Every subject area in the secondary education curriculum (including English, foreign languages, math, and social sciences) follows a distinct, carefully structured course sequence. These academic pathways consist of three key components: foundational core classes, specialized licensure coursework, and professional teaching preparation. Each component is purposefully designed to equip future educators with the knowledge and skills needed to satisfy demanding content mastery and instructional competency standards for middle and high school certification. Specifically, the Secondary Education English program targets teaching grades 5 through 12. According to REPA certification guidelines, degree completion requires students to fulfill 120 credit hours of instruction.
