The main goals of our undergraduate theatre programs are to equip students with skills comparable to entry-level professionals in their chosen fields - Understanding theatre as both a social and artistic medium, Familiarity with theatre history and dramatic literature, Proficiency in foundational acting and directing techniques, Mastery of technical theatre elements, Strong study and research capabilities, Ability to think critically and independently, Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaborative arts. Our theatre curriculum not only fosters an appreciation of human history and culture through dramatic literature and theatre studies, but also offers practical training in theatrical production across various media. We maintain an equilibrium between theory and practice across multiple degree options. Theatre graduates can explore diverse career paths including performance arts, television, film, education, media, public relations, human resources, business sectors, and legal fields. The School of Performing Arts integrates music, theatre, and dance disciplines, committed to delivering top-tier education and performance opportunities. Idaho State University's Theatre Program offers a comprehensive curriculum blending tradition with innovation. Our productions span classical to modern works, varying in scale from intimate to grand, with both student-led and faculty-guided projects.
