Suffolk's Theatre Department puts students first. We'll support your growth whether you want to perform, create scripts, direct productions, design sets, excel in stagecraft or arts administration, gain experience through internships with top Boston and international theater groups, and explore countless other opportunities. Our students engage with traditional, musical, and avant-garde styles, with particular emphasis on innovative productions.
Our comprehensive liberal arts program offers both strong theatrical training and lifelong learning skills. The adaptable theater curriculum allows for interdisciplinary exploration that evolves with your personal and professional aspirations. At Suffolk, you have the freedom to redefine your path as you develop. The Theatre Department nurtures exceptional storytellers—preparing them to thrive as performers, creators, producers, educators, and arts leaders. You'll collaborate with skilled professors, visiting artists, and professional organizations both at the Modern Theatre and beyond campus.
You can earn either a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Theatre with specializations in various fields: Acting, Musical Theater, Direction, Scriptwriting, Technical Theater, Design, Production Management, or Arts Management.
