The Jewish Studies program at Hofstra University provides interdisciplinary degree options, internship opportunities, speaker series, and year-round social activities. Our curriculum examines every aspect of Jewish culture across historical and contemporary contexts. Special emphasis is placed on post-Holocaust scholarship, Judaism's role in international affairs, combating antisemitism and racism, global Jewish heritage, diverse Jewish traditions, interreligious dialogue, gender studies in Judaism, and Jewish representation in modern media (film, digital platforms, television).

JWST fosters close mentorship relationships, guiding students toward their academic interests and diverse career paths enabled by this degree. Many recent JWST students have paired their studies with majors or minors across numerous fields such as broadcasting, psychology, legal studies, education, philosophy, business administration, media studies, regional studies (Middle East, Latin America, Europe), performing arts, international relations, political science, Hebrew language, cultural anthropology, music, gender studies, and religious studies. We continuously expand our interdisciplinary connections and welcome students to propose new academic combinations.
