The Governors State University Master of Social Work Program aims to educate students in applying a social justice framework to their practice. This framework serves as our core philosophy for addressing systemic obstacles and advancing opportunities in political, social, and economic spheres. The program offers concentrations in both child/family services and school social work. Graduates develop expertise in social work principles, ethics, and practical skills to enhance quality of life for individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. Through coursework in policy and program design, students gain tools to champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across all client demographics.
