This degree or certificate program equips students to either transfer to four-year universities or begin careers teaching dance across various settings, including private studios, fitness centers, community organizations, and school-based programs. To graduate, students must finish mandatory coursework plus electives totaling 30-31 units. Program Learning Outcomes: After completing this certificate, graduates will demonstrate the ability to instruct proper dance techniques with correct alignment, develop age-appropriate lesson plans for diverse populations, and design comprehensive dance curricula for different educational and recreational environments.

Qualification Requirements

Secondary or high school school students - submit proof of completion of secondary education by submitting your transcripts, a graduation certificate, or diploma. If you have not yet graduated from your secondary school, you may apply with in-progress transcripts and must submit final documents showing completion prior to enrollment at GCC.
College or university students - submit transcripts of all colleges/universities you have attended. Secondary or high school records are not required if you have completed at least one term of college or university.
