The Geography concentration fosters comprehensive knowledge of societal and environmental challenges, cultivates expertise in a specific geography subfield, and equips students with career-ready skills for lifelong learning. A Geosciences bachelor's degree with a Geography focus opens diverse career paths in both public and private organizations. Graduates often work as cartographers, urban/regional planners, environmental conservation specialists, GIS professionals, historic preservation experts, site selection analysts, and government physical scientists. Their well-rounded liberal arts education also prepares geographers for leadership roles and teaching positions.

This concentration serves as excellent preparation for graduate studies in social or natural sciences. While offering considerable course selection flexibility, the program mandates several upper-level classes in human geography, physical geography, and geospatial methods. The Geography concentration helps students discover their academic passion within the field, with optional certificates in GIS, water science, or sustainability allowing for deeper specialization in chosen areas.
