AYA educators enhance student learning by exploring subjects more thoroughly than in middle and secondary schools while broadening their global awareness. The core curriculum blends theoretical knowledge with practical application to ready candidates for certification. The AYA Education program mandates specialization in one teaching discipline: Integrated Language Arts, Integrated Social Studies, Integrated Mathematics, or Science.
Participants will engage in over 100 hours of hands-on training across diverse educational environments before beginning student teaching.
The capstone of teacher preparation involves supervised student teaching, guided by both university faculty and experienced classroom educators.
An Adolescent to Young Adult degree prepares graduates to teach in middle and high schools while allowing specialization in preferred subjects like mathematics, science, social studies, or language arts.
