The clinical psychology program adheres to the clinical science framework, focusing on developing practitioners who seamlessly blend research with clinical practice. Our curriculum offers intensive instruction in scientific methodologies and evidence-based clinical work, prioritizing approaches grounded in empirical findings. We champion applied research rooted in theory that drives tangible improvements for individuals, families, and communities. Numerous faculty members examine clinical psychology through social-psychological and contextual lenses. The social-psychological framework applies social psychology theories to analyze emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and relational processes, while the contextual viewpoint highlights how societal and cultural influences shape individuals and vice versa.
Our program actively fosters diversity and supports emerging scholars from varied backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from groups historically underrepresented in scientific fields, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA, first-generation college students, and individuals from economically disadvantaged circumstances.
