The University of Tennessee's Psychology Department boasts the institution's most extensive undergraduate and doctoral programs, earning nationwide acclaim for its exceptional research, distinguished faculty, and outstanding students. With roughly 110 graduate students, the department provides three advanced study options: an Experimental Psychology program focusing on Cognitive and Developmental Science, Social Psychology, and Neuroscience and Behavior, along with two prestigious applied doctoral tracks in Clinical and Counseling Psychology. Additionally, the department serves over 900 undergraduate psychology majors and confers nearly 500 bachelor's degrees each year, accounting for about 25% of the College of Arts and Sciences' total undergraduate degrees awarded.
