Exceptional Mason undergraduates can enroll in the combined bachelor's/accelerated master's program, earning both a BA/BS in their selected major and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS) with a social justice and human rights specialization in an accelerated format upon completing at least 144 credits. The Social Justice and Human Rights (SJHR) specialization within the MAIS program offers adaptable coursework, enabling students to concentrate on their most passionate advocacy areas. This curriculum establishes a robust theoretical framework for examining the multifaceted social, political, cultural, historical, and economic dimensions of various injustices and human rights concerns. Taking a global, intersectional perspective, the program encourages students to develop and implement approaches for fostering a fairer, more just, and compassionate society.
