The Sociology program prepares undergraduates for careers in sociology-related fields such as family services, social work, Christian ministry, and other roles needing sociological expertise. Coursework examines modern social dynamics, exploring how individuals, families, and communities are affected in our diverse, interconnected world while broadening students' cultural and socioeconomic understanding. At DBU, students develop communication and research skills to address social issues, gaining insights into human behavior and social patterns through a Christian lens. Through internships and service projects, they practice servant leadership while applying sociological principles. Graduates leave with a foundational grasp of human relationships, group dynamics, and social structures informed by sociological theory and research.
