Radiologic Technology blends cutting-edge technology with compassionate patient care. As skilled professionals, Radiologic Technologists apply their expertise in physics, anatomy, and physiology to produce diagnostic medical images. Established in 1961, our Radiologic Technology Program maintains accreditation through the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (www.jrcert.org) and California's Radiologic Health Branch. Foothill College holds additional accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Our graduates develop foundational skills meeting all national and state professional standards.
Students learn to prioritize radiation safety for patients, colleagues, and themselves.
Career paths span diverse environments including hospitals, clinics, private practices, mobile imaging services, industrial sites, research institutions, government agencies, and medical equipment sales. Typical salaries range from $75,000 to $90,000 annually, with growth potential in leadership roles, specialized imaging modalities, education, and research.
Through 23 months of intensive hands-on training, classroom study, and lab work—plus completion of general education requirements—students earn an Associate in Science degree and become eligible for both California State and ARRT National certification exams.
