Florida State University's School of Theatre maintains its reputation as one of America's top-tier theatre education programs. Graduates from our School pursue successful careers across the theatrical industry and related fields, both domestically and internationally.

Undergraduate students can choose from three distinct degree paths while exploring diverse theatrical disciplines. Our production initiatives allow students to participate in faculty-directed, student-led, and guest artist projects, performing in front of capacity audiences. The learning environment features two proscenium theatres, two adaptable black-box spaces, plus specialized studios, workshops, and classrooms.

Annually, numerous students participate in our acclaimed London Theatre program, which stands unmatched among collegiate study abroad offerings. Participants collaborate with renowned British instructors and artists alongside FSU faculty, enjoying weekly (sometimes daily) theatre attendance and international travel during breaks. This London immersion provides an unparalleled theatrical education.

Choosing the right theatre program requires careful consideration, and we appreciate your interest in Florida State University. Our outstanding curriculum and dedicated faculty stand ready to guide you toward your ideal academic and creative destination.

Qualification Requirements

An applicant who desires admission as a first year in college student must be graduated from a regionally accredited high school (or comparable international institution). All transcripts/academic records that are not in English must be accompanied by certified English translations. If the transcript/academic record does not indicate the degree earned and date the degree was awarded, separate proof of degree is required. We require freshman applicants to submit at least one ACT and/or SAT test score to be considered for admission. Florida State does not require the optional ACT writing score or the optional SAT essay. We encourage applicants to take both the ACT and SAT, and to attempt each exam more than one time to earn the highest possible score.
